The Best Season to travel to the Maldives

The Maldives are a group of islands that number into the thousands located in the Indian Ocean. They are well known for the golden sandy beaches, the deep blue ocean and the abundance of marine life. For tourists the major attractions here include obviously the great beaches, amazing scuba diving and snorkeling operations and the luxurious resorts that allow freedom of mind and unparalleled relaxation.

Being located just below the equator, the Maldives Islands have a tropical climate and have sunny weather all year round. The islands do not experience any major change in the climate or weather and are typically warm and sunny with occasional light showers mostly experienced in the evening. There is very little seasonal variation in rainfall and the annual rainfall is low when compared to neighboring countries. Though it is quite warm, it is not unbearably so as the temperature is modulated by the strong sea breeze and the fact that the land area of these islands is quite small when compared to the surrounding ocean. Thus it is apparent that the weather is by all means conducive to a great vacation.

The islands of the Maldives number in their thousands but only a few hundred have human settlements. The largest island is home to the capital Male, which also has the only international airport. Therefore for most travelers this would be their entry point into the country. The city of Male has no tropical delights for the travelers, and it is advisable to move out into a smaller island for the remainder of the holiday.

Travelers will be transported to their resorts in the smaller islands either by seaplane or boat. Upon entering a resort one gets a feeling of calm and freedom that is indescribable, as these islands are seem so far away from the rest of the world. The best season to travel to the Maldives is not dependent on the weather or the climate but rather on personal choice. If you wish to have more privacy on your vacation avoid the European summer as most Maldives resorts are full during these months. For a more intimate beach vacation Maldives spa resorts such as the Anantara Kihavah Maldives Villas is an excellent choice.
