Seychelles in the Running for Top Island Holiday Destination Award
The 2012 China Travel & Meetings Industry Awards sees the Seychelles in the running for Island Holiday Destination of the year. They are up against Maldives and Tahiti but this is great news for those involved in the tourism industry in the Seychelles who have been working tirelessly to promote the island to the Asian market. There are quite a large number of hotels up for nomination in the awards and those who move to the next stage of the process will be determined after a public vote.
Chinese travellers are becoming more and more interested in holidaying on luxury islands such as Seychelles, Maldives and Mauritius for example and that is why those in the Seychelles tourism industry and the Minister for Tourism in particular, has been pulling out all the stops to ensure that Seychelles is at the forefront of the minds of these travellers when it comes to booking their holidays. This is evident from the fact that they have made it on to the list for top island holiday destination 2012.
Tourism and Culture Minister, Mr. Alain St. Ange was delighted with the nomination saying that it would help to drive marketing in the region and came at the right time. With preparations underway for the launch of nonstop flights from China to Seychelles, this nomination will further boost relations between the two countries and should help to ensure that Seychelles visitor numbers from China increase even more.
It would seem that Seychelles luxury holidays are something that Chinese travellers have a keen interest in and it is no major surprise really considering that these types of holidays have been enjoyed for many years by travellers from Europe and beyond. The stunning white sandy beaches in the Seychelles are picture perfect and with the crystal clear blue waters, it is easy to see the attraction. In fact, the Seychelles is often referred to as “The Garden of Eden”.
The island nation is made up of over one hundred islands and is full of lush greenery and rare plant life. It really is one of the most stunning holiday destinations on the planet. If you are looking for true luxury then this is where you will find it in abundance. Luxury resorts and hotels are dotted all over the islands and you will be treated like royalty in them. There are even many private islands with the most spectacular resorts you could ever wish for. It is no wonder that Prince William and his bride Kate, chose to honeymoon in the Seychelles.
If you want to spend a couple of weeks relaxing in pure bliss then you will find that this is so easy to do in the Seychelles. You can spend all day lounging on the beautiful beaches or even take a trip to one of the many fabulous spas on the islands.
